Following Cruz-Ramos’ arrest on charges of sexual battery in Englewood, Florida, Rep. Steube sent a letter to DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, seeking detailed information on the case.
In his letter, Rep. Steube expressed concern over the Biden administration’s immigration policies, stating, “Thanks to Joe Biden and Alejandro Mayorkas, the world’s criminals know they can easily enter our country and terrorize our citizens.” He emphasized the need for transparency regarding Cruz-Ramos’ immigration history, entry into the United States, and interactions with U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials.
Rep. Steube’s request to DHS included detailed inquiries about Cruz-Ramos’ case history, immigration status, and any previous criminal charges against him.
