U.S. Representative Greg Steube announced the winner of the 2025 Congressional Art Competition for Florida’s 17th Congressional District. Tammy Ha, a 12th-grade student at Port Charlotte High School, received first place for her artwork titled “Woven Reflections.”
“Tammy’s piece, Woven Reflections, is a remarkable display of skill, thoughtfulness, and artistic vision,” stated Rep. Greg Steube. “It will be an honor to have her work represent our district in the halls of the U.S. Capitol for the next year.”
The winning artwork will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol along with other selected pieces from across the nation, accessible to thousands of visitors and members of Congress.
The competition also recognized Sophie Davis, another 12th-grade student from Port Charlotte High School, who secured second place with her artwork “The Entrance.”
Organized by the Congressional Institute since 1982, the Congressional Art Competition encourages artistic talent among high school students nationwide. It has served as a platform for over 650,000 students to exhibit their creativity and passion for art. Winners are honored both locally and at an annual awards ceremony in Washington, D.C., where first-place winners have their work displayed at the United States Capitol for one year.
Rep. Greg Steube expressed gratitude to all participating students for their dedication to art, acknowledging their contributions as enriching to Florida’s 17th Congressional District’s cultural landscape.
