U.S. Representative Greg Steube from Florida expressed strong criticism towards FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell during her testimony on Capitol Hill. The focus of the hearing was allegations of political discrimination by FEMA against Trump supporters in the wake of hurricanes in Florida.

Steube remarked, “That explains why FEMA has never stopped at my house over the six hurricanes we’ve had…I check 3 boxes! ✅ Trump Supporter ✅ White Male ✅ Cowboy!” He added, “This is the exact type of weaponization that put President Trump back in the White House….thank God President Trump won, and he can restore this department into what it should be, nonpartisan, helping every American that’s been affected by a disaster.”

The issue arose following reports that a FEMA employee was dismissed for instructing staff to bypass homes with signs supporting President Trump while providing disaster recovery assistance in Florida neighborhoods. Steube sent a letter to FEMA on November 15th seeking clarification about claims made by the fired employee. The employee alleged that avoiding homes with Trump signage was part of FEMA’s standard protocol.

Floridians who suspect their homes were deliberately overlooked by FEMA are encouraged to explore available resources through Rep. Steube’s website or contact his offices for further information.
