Ms. Gillian Kaye, the stepmother of Sagui Dekel-Chen, a dual American and Israeli citizen kidnapped by Hamas, will be in attendance at the 2024 State of the Union as a distinguished guest of U.S. Representative Greg Steube (R-Fla). Rep. Steube expressed his gratitude for Ms. Kaye’s acceptance of the invitation, highlighting the importance of her presence in keeping national and international attention on bringing every single hostage home.

In response, Ms. Kaye expressed her appreciation for Rep. Steube’s efforts in keeping the issue of hostages and their captivity in Gaza in the national spotlight. She emphasized the need for the safe return of all hostages, including her stepson Sagui Dekel-Chen, who was taken captive during the October 7th attacks by Hamas.

Ms. Kaye’s attendance at the State of the Union comes as a significant moment as March 7th marks five months since the brutal massacre and abduction of hundreds by Hamas terrorists, with Sagui being one of the 134 hostages still in captivity, including six American citizens.

President Biden is scheduled to address a joint session of Congress at the U.S. Capitol on Thursday, March 7th at 9:00 pm ET. The event will serve as a platform to shed light on the state of the war and hostage negotiation efforts, with Ms. Kaye’s presence symbolizing the ongoing plea for the safe return of all hostages.
