Charlotte County issued the following announcement on July 26.
Charlotte County Commissioner Ken Doherty has been appointed to the National Association of Counties’ Transportation Steering Committee. He was also appointed to the Highway/Highway Safety Subcommittee, on which he will serve as vice chairman.
Doherty was first elected to the Charlotte County Commission in 2012. Prior to serving on the commission, Doherty worked as a professional engineer and as the county engineer. He served as chairman of the Charlotte County Charter Review Commission in 2010 and as a member in 1992, 1997 and 2004.
