National Night Out 2022

Hello DeSoto County, Sheriff Jim Potter here!

I would like to personally invite you and your family to our 4th annual National Night Out event on Tuesday, October 4, 2022. This will be an evening of fun that will begin at 5:30 pm until 8:30 pm at the Turner Center located at 2250 NE Roan Street across from DeSoto County High School.

National Night Out is a nationwide campaign geared toward promoting law enforcement and community ties. The DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office is participating in this event to strengthen our community bonds and promote a positive, relaxed environment for our neighbors to meet our Deputies, Telecommunicators, and Office Staff.

There will be bounce houses, food, and games, and you will have a chance to meet the K9 Deputies, Dive Team Members, SWAT Team Members, and many others involved in our specialty units. In addition, we will have 250 Kid ID Kits for parents to keep accurate records of their children’s growth which will include a DNA sample kit.

This event has grown over the years, and we look forward to interacting with our community. Come out and say hello, and if I have not had the pleasure to meet you face to face, I would love to take this opportunity to get to know you. Our Sheriff’s Office staff is also excited about the opportunity to network with you and your family. Come out and visit with us and learn more about the people behind the badge and enjoy a free night out for the entire family.

I look forward to seeing you all there.

Be Kind, Be Safe, and God Bless,

Sheriff Jim Potter
