Power Update
Only 1 school is still without power (Liberty Elementary).
Mitigation
All schools are sealed; no further water intrusion can occur (first rain will confirm).
We are continuing to dry out buildings.
We are continuing to dehumidify buildings.
We are continuing to remove debris from rooms.
We are continuing to remove outside debris.
Building Specialist Inspections and Air Quality Inspections continue to occur.
Students and staff cannot enter facilities until inspections occur.
Other Updates
We expect to receive a detailed assessment of the damage from the Disaster Restoration Company today.
We believe that every school can be used in some way even if we have to close some sections of a school and re-configure areas to accommodate all students.
We are doing everything we can to reopen school by October 24. If we can get students back before the 24th we will, and we will provide plenty of notice if that is the case.
Athletics facilities have not been deemed safe as of yet. As soon as they are safe we will resume athletics.
We are bringing in a machine this weekend that will be magnetized to drag over the fields to ensure no small metal debris is on the fields.
We will do multiple passes on the field to pick up larger debris.
We continue to dry out the gyms.
As soon as the all-clear is received on these facilities, we will resume athletics.
