Mitigation
- We are continuing to dry out buildings and dehumidify buildings.
- We are continuing to remove debris from rooms as well as outside debris.
- Building Specialist Inspections and Air Quality Inspections continue to occur.
Resuming School Update (Students)
- We can now bring 19 of our 21 schools back on October 18, 2022.
- Unfortunately, PORT CHARLOTTE MIDDLE SCHOOL AND LA AINGER MIDDLE SCHOOL will be delayed.
- LA Ainger Middle School students will return on October 24.
- We have received word that Port Charlotte Middle School will not be available for at least the next several months.
- Port Charlotte Middle School will be housed in a portable campus on the Port Charlotte Middle School campus during this time.
- To mitigate as much learning loss as possible, the staff and students will use virtual instruction through our Canvas program until the portable campus is set up.
- Every student that attends Port Charlotte Middle will receive a new iPad with internet connectivity built into the device.
- A schedule for picking up the new iPads will be released to parents.
- The portable campus is already on the way and is scheduled to be ready for staff and students on November 1st.
Resuming School Update (Staff)
- All staff (including LA Ainger), should report to their work sites on October 17, 2022.
- PORT CHARLOTTE MIDDLE SCHOOL - Staff should report to the Peace River Elementary School Cafeteria on the 17th.
Intersession for Year-Round Schools Update
- Intersession activities have been planned at all three schools and have been communicated to the families.
- Parents should reach out to their schools with any questions about Intersession activities.
