That could result in insurance companies not paying, or reimbursing payments you’ve already made. The insurance company may also cancel your policy if you used an unlicensed contractor. This can also affect the future sale of the home, should you try to sell.

Using an unlicensed company has a snowball effect. Save yourself the hassle and do your research.

Before you hire a contractor to repair storm damage, check the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation website at MyFloridaLicense.com to see if they are licensed.
