Community Services Facilities Update

Community Services continues to restore services and reopen county parks, recreational facilities and library and historical facilities. Visit CharlotteCountyFL.gov/ActiveAgain for a complete list of open facilities and available amenities.  Libraries  Charlotte County Libraries & History will begin a “traveling library” program at select county parks. The program will be held on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. 

  • Dec. 14 – McGuire Park 

  • Dec. 11 – Bayshore Park 

  • Dec. 17 – Centennial Park Recreation Center 

  • Dec. 18 – Deep Creek Park 

 Recreation  The recreation team will bring the REC2U van to community parks on weekends from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. to the following locations: 

  • Dec. 10 – Centennial Park and Maracaibo Kidspace Park 

  • Dec. 11 – Rotonda Community Park 

  • Dec. 17 – Port Charlotte Beach & Bissett Park 

  • Dec. 18 – Deep Creek Park 

 Parks The following parks/amenities have reopened: 

  • Environmental Center at Cedar Point Environmental Park 

  • Baseball fields at Centennial Park (no field 6 and no lights) 

  • Deep Creek Restroom 

  • G.C. Herring RC Track  

 Park Restrooms Most restrooms have reopened. The following restrooms remain closed.  •    Ann & Chuck Dever Regional Park football fields •    Carmalita Park softball fields •    Centennial Park baseball & soccer •    Harold Avenue Regional Park baseball & softball fields  •    Kiwanis Park       Concessions       The following concession stands remain closed.  

  • Ann & Chuck Dever Regional Park football 

  • Carmalita Park softball & football 

  • Centennial Park baseball & soccer 

  • Franz Ross Park football 

  • Harold Avenue Regional Park baseball & softball 

  • Maracaibo Park baseball 

  • South County Regional Park baseball & soccer 

    Playgrounds      Most playgrounds have reopened. The following playgrounds remain closed.  

  • Ann & Chuck Dever Regional Park 

  • Carmalita Park baseball  

  • Englewood East Park 

  • Franz Ross Park 

  • Harold Avenue Regional Park tennis 

  • Higgs Park 

  • Kiwanis Park (2-5) 

  • South Gulf Cove Park 

  • Tringali Park 

  • Lemon Bay Sunrise Rotary Park 

  • South County Regional Park 

     Sport Courts    The following multi-purpose and tennis courts remain closed. 

  • Ann & Chuck Dever Regional Park 

  • Rotonda Park 

  • South County Regional Park  

       Basketball The following basketball courts remain closed. 

  • Englewood Beach  

 Baseball Fields The following baseball fields remain closed. 

  • Harold Avenue Regional Park 

  • Maracaibo Park 

Cricket Fields The following cricket field remains closed. •    Ann & Chuck Dever Regional Park  Football Fields  The following football fields remain closed. 

  • Ann & Chuck Dever Regional Park 

  • Carmalita Park 

 Soccer Fields  The following soccer fields remain closed.•    Centennial Park  Softball Fields  The following softball fields remain closed. 

  • Carmalita Park  

  • Harold Avenue Regional Park 

 Sports Lighting  The following facilities do not have lighting at this time.  

  • Ann & Chuck Dever Regional Park tennis 

  • Carmalita Park softball field         

  • Centennial Park baseball & softball fields 

  • Harold Avenue Regional Park baseball & softball fields 

  • Franz Ross Park football field 

  • South County Regional Park baseball field & pool 

     Amenities       The following amenities remain closed.

  • Boca Grande fishing pier Canoe/Kayak Launch  

  • Carmalita Park single pavilion  

  • Darst Park 

  • Kiwanis Park boardwalk 

  • Live Oak Multi-Paved Trail 

  • Randy Spence Park group pavilion 

  • South County Regional Park RC track 

  • Tringali Park multi-paved trail 

  • Spring Lake Park 

     Parking Fees      Parking fees will be reinstituted on January 1, 2023.   For storm-related information, call the Charlotte County Emergency Operations Center, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday at 941-833-4000 or 941-743-1320.
