U.S. Representative Greg Steube has reintroduced the Protection of Women in Olympic and Amateur Sports Act, a bill aimed at revising eligibility requirements for amateur sports governing bodies to prevent biological males from participating in women's sports. The legislation seeks to address concerns about fair competition and the future of women’s athletics.

"From the swimming pool to the boxing ring, far-left activists have hijacked the rulebook to push their extremist agenda onto sports governing bodies," said Rep. Steube. "It is more important than ever that we stand up for common sense by prohibiting biological males from competing in female athletics."

The bill is supported by 26 House colleagues and Senator Tommy Tuberville of Alabama, who introduced companion legislation in the Senate. "Men should not be competing in women’s sports at any level," stated Senator Tuberville. He emphasized the need for safe and fair competition, especially before the United States hosts the 2028 Summer Olympics.

The act has garnered support from various organizations, including the Independent Council on Women’s Sports, which stated: "Women and girls deserve the opportunity to compete in sports on a level playing field." Penny Nance of Concerned Women for America Legislative Action Committee added that Congress should ensure female athletes are indeed women.

Terry Schilling from the American Principles Project expressed gratitude for Steube's leadership: "This is incredibly unfair to women, and it needs to end." Kris Ullman of Eagle Forum also voiced support, urging Congress members to vote for the act.

Other endorsements came from Matt Sharp of Alliance Defending Freedom and Paula Scanlan from Independent Women’s Voice. Payton McNabb shared her personal experience as a former athlete affected by male participation in women's sports.
