SARASOTA — U.S. Representative Greg Steube has provided a preview of the 2025 Congressional Art Competition. This annual event, sponsored by the Congressional Institute, invites high school students from all over the nation to participate in the Artistic Discovery competition. The initiative aims to recognize and foster artistic talent across the United States and within each congressional district.

“Every year, Suncoast students have the opportunity to showcase their art with the chance of seeing their masterpiece on display in the U.S. Capitol,” stated Representative Steube. He also highlighted the abundance of talented high school artists within Florida’s 17th District, expressing his anticipation for the creativity and imagination that the competition will reveal.

Since its inception in 1982, the Artistic Discovery competition has seen participation from more than 650,000 high school students. Winners gain recognition both locally and during an awards ceremony in Washington, DC. Their artwork is displayed for a year at the U.S. Capitol, offering a diverse audience of representatives, staff, and visitors the opportunity to appreciate their work.

The Office of Congressman Greg Steube will be accepting submissions from high school students in Florida’s 17th District until April 17, 2025. Students interested in participating can find more details on guidelines and contest rules on Representative Steube’s website and the Congressional Institute’s website.
