Smart

City of Pensacola issued the following announcement.

Industry leaders will gather to share concepts to create efficiencies, improve sustainability and foster community resilience while enhancing the quality of life for its residents at the Smart Cities Summit on Tuesday, March 24 in downtown Pensacola.

Co-hosted by the City of Pensacola and local nonprofit Gulf Coast Energy Network, the Smart Cities Summit is being held at Skopelos at New World, located at 600 S. Palafox St. The Summit will include presentations from the American Planning Association, the Department of Energy, the Florida Recycling Partnership and other industry experts.

“Exhibitors will be on hand to showcase the latest smart city technologies and strategies," GCEN Executive Director Dave Robau said. The City of Pensacola has partnered with GCEN to co-host this event, supporting the need for advancing cities.

“We are fortunate to live in a vibrant, thriving city that continues to grow year after year, but it is critical that we work together to ensure we are building a smarter, more sustainable community for generations to come,” Mayor Grover Robinson said. “Whether it’s through innovative design and infrastructure or enhancements to coastal flood mitigation and recycling, there are many opportunities to incorporate smart cities concepts right here in the City of Pensacola. Events like the Smart Cities Summit will help initiate important conversations about how we can all collaborate to make Pensacola a smart, sustainable and connected city."
