WEST FLORIDA HOSPITAL: Healthgrades and Conversa Launch Coronavirus Chat to Inform Consumers About Latest Information related to COVID-19 and the Coronavirus Outbreak

Covid

West Florida Hospital issued the following announcement.

Healthgrades, the leading resource that connects consumers, physicians and health systems, today launched the Coronavirus Chatbot, a tool that is intended to inform and keep the public up-to-date about the Coronavirus and COVID-19. Powered by Conversa, healthcare’s leader in delivering automated patient engagement at scale, the chatbot provides important background on coronavirus, and, if the user is experiencing symptoms, performs a symptom analysis to help determine level of risk.

Consumers can text CORONA to 83973 or visit and enter their zip code to have access to real time information about coronavirus, including answers to commonly asked questions and tips for staying healthy. Users also have the option to sign up for Text Alerts for things like travel restrictions or updated information from the CDC. Additionally, the chatbot includes access to the Healthgrades Find-a-Doctor search function, that will connect consumers to a healthcare provider who can evaluate Coronavirus symptoms and determine if testing is necessary.

“The most important thing a consumer can do during a serious and life-threatening outbreak is get the facts and stay informed,” said Brad Bowman, MD, Chief Medical Officer, Healthgrades. “Through this chatbot, consumers can receive the most up-to-date, localized and pertinent information on how to keep themselves, and their loved ones, safe and healthy during this time. Together with Conversa, we are proud to offer this tool so consumers can make the right decisions for their health.”

“The latest Coronavirus outbreak shows how essential virtual care has become,” says Philip Marshall MD, MPH, co-founder and Chief Product Officer for Conversa Health. “By using this secure and private chat technology, we hope to help people reduce their risk for contracting the virus and evaluate symptoms and testing options if they’re experiencing symptoms.”
