Charlotte County issued the following announcement on Dec. 17.
Charlotte County Community Services will host the “Fit for Life” Senior Games 2022 Track and Field event on March 5, 2022 and all other events Oct. 1- Nov. 1, 2022. This Olympic-style event focuses on athletic competition and recreation opportunities for men and women 50 and over.
The games are sanctioned by the Florida Sports Foundation and serve as a qualifier for the Florida Senior Games State Championships. Events will take place at various Charlotte County recreation facilities and parks.
Registration opens Jan. 3, 2022, for track and field events only. Registration for all other events will begin Aug. 15, 2022. Additional information can be obtained at the Ann & Chuck Dever Regional Park Recreation Center, 6961 San Casa Drive, Englewood and on our website www.CharlotteCountyFL.gov.
