County of Charlotte issued the following announcement on Feb. 24.
Charlotte County Libraries and History presents two theatrical performances at the Mid-County Regional Library, 2050 Forrest Nelson Blvd., Port Charlotte, in the month of March — Women of 76 and Chameleon. Performances are free and open to the public. No reservations or tickets are required. Masks are encouraged but not required.
5 p.m., Thursday, March 3 - Women of 76, starring Rita Parisi
Celebrating National Women’s Month, accomplished actress and playwright Rita Parisi performs five women who witnessed and changed the course of the American Revolution, including a Massachusetts housewife who led an all- female militia in search of British spies. Other women portrayed include a German baroness who followed her Hessian general husband into the British camps, and a Georgian farmer’s wife who took on a search party of Redcoats, all by herself.
5 p.m.,-Thursday, March 24, -Chameleon, staring Peter Suarez
Celebrated dancer, actor and musician and al-around artistic chameleon Peter Suarez performs five captivating characters including an Irish guitar player, a suave Spanish flamenco dancer, an old theatrical stagehand and an effeminate costumer named Brother Soiree.
