The Courthouse window repair project has begun!

County of Desoto issued the following announcement on Mar. 3.

State Legislative Appropriation: $350,000

Project Summary:

The restoration project includes replacing the wood frames with new pressure-treated wood, resealing the frames to be watertight, and repainting the frames to match the existing color.

Background:

DeSoto County received an appropriation from the State Legislature for $350,000.  After the board's approval, the project was presented to the City of Arcadia's Historic Preservation Commission.  Following their approval, a contractor was chosen to complete the project.

We appreciate everyone's cooperation during the planning portion of this project and now that the project has started!  Thank you to the DeSoto County Clerk of the Circuit Court, Nadia Daughtrey, and the State of Florida Twelfth Judicial Circut Court for your coordination on this project.
