Department of Children and Families will open a Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (D-SNAP) location for Charlotte County residents on Sunday, Nov. 13 through Tuesday, Nov. 15 for applicants to complete their in-person interview on-site. D-SNAP provides food assistance for individuals and families impacted by Hurricane Ian and who are not receiving food assistance benefits through the regular Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).
DCF encourages individuals to pre-register before coming on-site to complete their interviews. DCF will reopen pre-registration for individuals who did not previously pre-register online before Oct. 16. Online pre-registration will be available at www.myflfamilies.com/dsnap from Sunday, Nov. 13 through Tuesday, Nov. 15
The on-site D-SNAP location is Kia of Port Charlotte, 202 Tamiami Trail, Port Charlotte between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.
