U.S. Rep. Greg Steube Announces Service Academy Nominees

U.S. Representative Greg Steube (R-Fla.) has announced the nomination of 21 students from Florida's 17th Congressional District to the U.S. Service Academies. The nominees will have the opportunity to attend prestigious institutions such as the U.S. Military Academy, the U.S. Naval Academy, the U.S. Air Force Academy, and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.

Representative Steube expressed his privilege in nominating the next generation of military leaders, stating, "This year's nominees are intelligent, driven Floridians with a passion to serve our country. Should they receive an appointment, these individuals will represent our district well."

Among the nominees are several outstanding students from Sarasota County. Alexandra Witherspoon from Riverview High School has been nominated for the U.S. Air Force Academy, while Ava Marano from Pine View School has been nominated for the U.S. Naval Academy. Benjamin Aguilar from Sarasota High School has been nominated for the U.S. Military Academy, and Casey Aten from Pine View School has been nominated for the U.S. Naval Academy.

Other nominees from Sarasota County include Christian DeLarge from Sarasota Military Academy and Naval Academy Preparatory School, Conor Heary from Sarasota High School, and Darvani Gonzalez from Sarasota High School. These students have received nominations for various academies such as the U.S. Naval Academy, the U.S. Air Force Academy, and the U.S. Military Academy.

From Venice High School, Karina Lawrence has been nominated for the U.S. Military Academy, and Micah Thomson has been nominated for the U.S. Naval Academy. Noah Gregory from Cardinal Mooney Catholic High School and Randolph-Macon Academy has received a nomination for the U.S. Air Force Academy.

In Charlotte County, Anindita Carlsen from Port Charlotte High School has received a nomination for the U.S. Naval Academy. Elliot Courtney from Charlotte High School and Florida SouthWestern State College has also been nominated for the U.S. Naval Academy. Reiley Lester from the American Overseas School of Rome has been nominated for the U.S. Air Force Academy.

Finally, in Lee County, Justin Rodriguez from Gateway High School and Florida Gulf Coast University has received a nomination for the U.S. Military Academy, and Kenneth Mo from Lehigh Senior High School has also been nominated for the U.S. Military Academy.

These outstanding students have been recognized for their dedication and commitment to serving their country. The nomination process for the U.S. Service Academies is highly competitive, and these individuals have demonstrated their exceptional qualities and potential to become future military leaders.
