SARASOTA — U.S. Representative Greg Steube (R-Fla.) has announced that he is seeking nominations for Florida's MVP Program in 2024. The purpose of this award is to recognize the unsung heroes across the district who display extraordinary dedication to making a difference in the community.

“Our friends and neighbors give so much back to our community and often, these heroes are never properly recognized. I look forward to accepting 2024 nominations for Florida’s MVP program to recognize the individuals who exemplify values-driven leadership, service towards others, and courage in the face of tragedy,” said Rep. Greg Steube.

To thank the MVPs for their work, they will be presented with a flag flown over the U.S. Capitol and publicly recognized in the weekly newsletter. Each quarter in 2024, Rep. Steube’s office will recognize an MVP from the Congressional District, including Sarasota County, Charlotte County, and portions of Lee County. To confirm residency in FL-17, individuals may enter their zip code on the website.

In order to be eligible for the award, recipients must have engaged in an outstanding act of service in the community and be a resident of the 17th Congressional District. Nominations can be submitted using the website form provided.

Some of the FL-17 MVPs from previous months include Gold Star Parents, Sergeant Darrell Seckendorf, Venice ICU Nurse Nick Madonna, North Port Artist and Veteran Sgt Phillip Moore, and Alex Meyer.
