DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office spent a BUSY week actively patrolling our roadways, as we’ve been hearing and seeing your concerns regarding an increase in traffic congestion.
As we look at a snapshot of our statistics from last week, from March 6th through March 12th DCSO Law Enforcement Deputies conducted 96 traffic stops and 5 crash investigations on some of our busiest roadways including County Road 769, County Road 761, the intersection at County Road 761 and U.S. Highway 17, and the intersection at State Road 70 and State Road 72. This was in addition to the other 1,229 calls we received!
Our hard-working deputies are dedicated to take the time to patrol and enforce traffic laws, looking out for speeders and distracted drivers especially in these high-traffic areas.
We know traffic is a major concern to our community, and we want to ensure DeSoto County roadways are safe for you to drive. Sheriff Potter wants to remind all drivers on our roadways to drive cautiously, stay safe and give us a call if YOU see someone driving recklessly.
